To be honest, that’s a totally subjective question. But this might also just be because I have gotten rather good at dodging them over the years. They’re not completely gone, it wouldn’t be a Bethesda game without some bugs, but they do seem less commonplace. The new version also seems to have less bugs. Even while running some mods, the game still runs as smooth as ever. Xbox One owners needn’t worry, you get to enjoy the full creativity of the mod community. Unfortunately for PS4 owners, there are some major restrictions to their mods. While console players never got to enjoy mods on the Xbox 360 and PS3, they do this time around. This technically also allows for bigger and better mods. More enemies at the same time mean bigger and better fights. The added power also allows for more stuff to happen on screen at once. The game does run smoother on the newer, more powerful consoles. This game released 5 years ago, and if you look at it that way, it does still hold up pretty damn good to this day. It doesn’t look it’s age anymore, but it doesn’t look like a 2016 game either. The biggest differences you do notice are the lighting, water textures and draw distance. While the graphics do look a little better, most of it is very unnoticeable.
It’s still the exact same game that released in 2011, along with its 3 DLC packs. So the big question is, is this Special Edition worth getting? This is obviously not a new game, but they slapped a retail price for a new release on it.
There’s no denying that Skyrim is a masterpiece, but that’s not what we’re here for. Funny how a 5 (!) year old game gets you more hyped than any new game out there.
